Data Protection Information for Participants of ABCSG Events

The protection of your personal data is a matter of particular concern to us. ABCSG processes your personal data strictly in compliance with applicable law, especially with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (Datenschutzgesetz – DSG). “Personal data“ include all information related to an identified or identifiable natural person. (i.e. name or adress).

In the following sections, you will find data protection information for participants of events, e-learnings and further trainings (hereinafter referred to as “event”):

Data categories/Purpose of the processing

ABCSG processes the following categories of personal data of event participants:

  • Personal data provided in the course of your registration for the event (e.g. Name, Address, E-Mail-Address, Phone number, for the purpose of carrying out the registration for the event and/or for sending log-in data and participation confirmations. If applicable, voluntarily, and not obligatorily personal wishes will be processed, such as identification codes for the receipt of national/international education points, dietary wishes/allergies/food intolerances or contact details of relatives travelling with you.
  • Photos/Audio- and Videorecording/Live-Stream-recordings: In the framework of events, photos/sound and video recordings/live stream recordings are regularly made for the purpose of documenting and post-event reporting; these may be published in print and online media, on various social media platforms, on the website/intranet of the ABCSG and on the intranet of the organisers and/or partners.
  • Other personal data, that arise in the course of participation in the event (e.g. duration of login during an online event, registration lists for documenting participation in an on-site event, personal details in the final test), if applicable, for the purpose of achieving certain training points.

We would like to point out, that it is prohibited to take pictures, replicating them as well as audio and video recording of the event and/or parts thereof, such as content of certain presentation slides (regardless of whether this takes place virtually, hybrid or on-site; in the case of on-site events, this also applies to any materials)

Legal Basis/Storage Period

ABCSG processes personal data at your registration request and for the purposes described by Art. 6 (1) lit b GDPR to fulfil your registration and to execute precontractual provisions and/or on the basis of Art 6 Abs 1 lit f GDPR, the legitimate interest of the controller, which is the organisation und handling of internal and external events and reporting of them. These personal data will be stored secure and confidential for the period of 7 years.

Forwarding data to third parties

It is a big concern of us to provide the maximum safety for the transferring of personal data. ABCSG works with service providers to fulfill the above-mentioned purposes. Those service providers process personal data of event participants in our name and solely according to our instructions. In addition, your personal data will only be transferred by us to third parties who are bound by EU data protection law or who are/were obliged to maintain a corresponding level of protection. For Example: For on-site events – as far as necessary for the room booking – transmission to the respective hotels, as well as – if necessary, for the receipt of continuing education points – to the local/national/international authority.

Your rights

According to the GDPR the data subjects have – within the limits of respective stipulated exceptions – the following rights:

right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), right to object (Art. 21 GDPR),  right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (especially Austrian data protection authority,  Art. 77 GDPR), provided the processing is based on consent –  right to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7 (3) GDPR), with effect for the future.
