The international phase III ABCSG 62 \/ CAMBRIA-2 trial has reached an important milestone: The enrollment target of 5,500 patients was achieved as planned in June 2026. By the official end of recruitment on July 1, 2026, a total of 5,511 patients has been enrolled in the trial.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
ABCSG 62 \/ CAMBRIA-2 is an international, randomized phase III trial evaluating camizestrant (AZD9833), a next-generation oral SERD, versus standard endocrine therapy in patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative early breast cancer at intermediate-high or high risk of recurrence following definitive locoregional treatment.<\/p>\n
CAMBRIA-2 is conducted on behalf of AstraZeneca in collaboration with ABCSG and other international academic study groups, with ABCSG coordinating the trial across nine countries (Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and the United States).<\/p>\n
In Austria, a total of 100 patients were enrolled across the 15 participating study sites. The largest contribution to recruitment came from the Medical University of Innsbruck under the leadership of Coordinating Investigator Daniel Egle.<\/p>\n
